Smokin D’s BBQ calls the Outer Sunset home — a cozy takeout restaurant on Irving Street slinging Texas-style brisket, ribs, and our fan-favorite Brisky Baos. It’s a little Asian, a little Mexican, and 100% Texan, smoked low and slow right here in the fog.

Do you take reservations?
Nope — first come, first served. Order ahead online for pickup to skip the wait, especially on weekends.
How much seating do you have?
Very limited: four counter seats and a couple of benches outside. Most folks take their order to-go and eat it picnic-style nearby.
Do you ever sell out?
Yes, and it happens more often than you’d think. We smoke everything fresh in small batches, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Is the menu the same every day?
Mostly, but a few items run on limited days — our Brisky Baos, for example, are only available Friday through Sunday. Check the full menu for what’s running before you head over.
Can I order ahead to guarantee I get what I want?
Yes, and we genuinely recommend it. Order pickup or delivery directly through our site — it’s cheaper than third-party apps and we’ll have it hot and ready when you arrive.
Do you have parking?
Street parking along Irving St. and the surrounding avenues (metered/permit zones — check signage). It’s a walkable, transit-friendly stretch of the Outer Sunset.
Opening a new location soon?
Yes! We’re bringing Smokin D’s to the Richmond District (2140 Clement St.) in late fall — learn more here. The Irving Street shop remains our original home and isn’t going anywhere.
